In-Home IV Therapy For
Elderly Care

Getting to a clinic is not always easy, especially for elderly patients or those living in care facilities. Mobile IV Therapy was designed with this in mind. We bring medically-supervised IV infusions directly to the bedside, providing hydration, nutritional support, and comfort in a setting that feels safe and familiar.

In-Home IV Therapy for Elderly Care

What Is In-Home IV Therapy For Elderly Patients?

In-home IV therapy is a mobile healthcare service that delivers intravenous fluids, vitamins, and minerals to elderly patients in their own homes or within retirement and frail-care residences. Every drip administered through Mobile IV Therapy is overseen by a registered nurse, with the pharmacist and a doctor available on call throughout the session.

For many elderly individuals, oral hydration and supplementation are not enough. Absorption can decline with age, appetite may be reduced, and chronic conditions can increase the body's demand for specific nutrients. IV therapy addresses these challenges by delivering what the body needs directly into the bloodstream.

Who Is This Service For?

This service is intended for elderly patients who are at risk of or currently experiencing dehydration, those recovering from illness, hospitalisation, or surgery, residents of old age homes, frail care centres, or assisted living facilities, individuals with reduced appetite or difficulty absorbing nutrients orally, and family members seeking additional care support for an ageing loved one.

What Does A Home Visit Look Like?

A registered nurse will arrive at the patient's location at the scheduled time. Before any treatment begins, the pharmacist will have reviewed the patient's medical history and current medication in consultation with a doctor to determine the most appropriate infusion. The nurse, with the doctor and pharmacist available on call, will set up the IV in a calm and comfortable manner, and the drip will run for approximately 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the formulation.

Family members or caregivers are welcome to be present throughout. The pharmacist and doctor are available by phone during every session and can liaise with the patient's existing medical practitioner if needed.

Is IV Therapy Safe For Elderly Patients?

Every drip administered through Mobile IV Therapy is overseen by a registered nurse, with the pharmacist and a doctor available on call throughout the session. Because of this, IV therapy is a safe and effective method of delivering hydration and nutrients. Every patient is assessed individually, and all existing health conditions and medications are taken into account before recommending a treatment plan. If IV therapy is not appropriate for a particular patient, we will advise accordingly.

A Terms and Conditions form must be completed by the patient or their authorised caregiver before treatment can begin.
